Blonde Redhead
Redhead to be blonde Gwen Stacy
A redhead, Bryce Dallas Howard, will play the blonde Gwen Stacy in Spiderman 3. Currently, Kirsten Dunst- a blonde- plays redhead Mary Jane Watson.
Girl fight over Peter Parker! Well, we know that MJ wins in the end because Gwen gets killed by the Green Goblin. Since daddy GG is dead in the movie series, and son James Falco is heading towards being the new Green Goblin, will Gwen be killed off in 3? Plus, the movie sets up MJ as the girl next door first crush of Peters, which means somehow they will either flashback and "add" Gwen to the mix or just have her come in to swoop Peter away.
Peter Parker/Spidey is probably my biggest comic crush. Intelligent, awkward, shy Peter Parker and witty, strong, fast Spiderman combined have worked as a character set up for decades. And Mary Jane has always been strong, sassy and more real because of her troubled alcoholic dad and single mom.
As for the film version, I do like Tobey as Spidey. Kirsten Dunst is cute and attractive, but I'm not sure she is written or played quite as boldly as the MJ I like.
And Bryce was just about the only interesting thing about The Village, although I have some affection for the movie because I watched on the plane to Ireland last year on my own in seat TV screen.

Yeah, I always thought the most basic flaw in the two Raimi SPIDER-MAN movies was failing to establish the Peter-Gwen-MJ dynamic right from the get-go. Now, bringing Gwen in belatedly, in obviously the wrong order of things, seems... redundant.
Why redundant? Sam Raimi has been faithful to the larger elements of the series, which is what really matters. If you wanted to adhere to the established order, Mary Jane would not have appeared until the second film.
Total accuracy would result in the first movie showcasing the ancient Peter Parker/Betty Brant romance ... which would not be a bad thing, since Elizabeth Banks (who portrays Betty Brant) is a hottie.
"Hate" is a strong word for Dunst ... but I'll go along with it.
My AMAZING SPIDER-MAN collection basically spans issue #1-122. With the death of Gwen (and the original Goblin), the Spider-Man saga has an appropriate ending. Even Peter would have hung up his web-shooters.

Good thing you weren't the writer of Spider-Man.
If I was the writer of AMAZING SPIDER-MAN, it would have continued. It is, after all, a franchise. A multi-gazillion dollar franchise.
Rich: redundant, because if you wanted to set up a meaningful love triangle in a movie sequence that may well turn out to be regarded as a trilogy, it should have been established earlier. So yeah, the inauthenticity is a little galling, but the poor structural pacing grates a bit, too.
I don't think they're going to worry about a love triangle. After all, Mary Jane is such an air-head (in the movies) ... she abandons John Jameson at the altar, and then (after encouraging Peter to "Go get 'em, Tiger") she watches Spider-Man swing away with a horror-stricken expression on her face. As is she's wondering, "What have I gotten myself into?" Peter should be asking himself the same question. Maybe in the third film, he'll wake up and fall for Gwen, who is both infinitely hotter and more stable.
I just hope spidey finally gets laid. In the movies Peter is keeping MJ away to protect her, but eventually you know he gets hang MJ upside down from the ceiling over whatever kinky stuff Spidey does, so its about time the movies let him get some like the comics did.
