More New York Comicon Guests:
I've talked with Steve McNiven at several shows, just a smart and nice guy who loves libraries! The only bummer is that he will not sketch at shows-- maybe it's his slow pace that made Civil War run late.
...I hate what Marvel has done in One More Day, but teaming Dan Slott and Steve McNiven is nearly impossible for me not to buy. Both are two of the best in comics right now.

The Luna Brothers The Sword 1-3 all sell out
If you read this blog you know I am a fan of The Luna Brothers. I even had a letter published in Girls once. If you haven't given their latest series a try, I would suggest it. I think their character development and art are unique in the comics world.

Man, three people are sick at my work, I've been tired since New Year, and friends L and J were both sick over Xmas. On the good side, the weather is sunny and 6oplus degrees here.

Mundane world of the library

Uh huh! Got my free professional badge number for April's New York Comicon! And the Friday has 6 hours of trade show for just dealers, pros, and librarians! Of course, most of the artists and big name guests are never there, but it is a great time to visit tables that are swamp city later.

Just saw that the Luna Brothers have a new project. I really loved Girls and Ultra, so this is a must for me to pick up.

Still have The Vinyl Underground 2 and the Infinite Halloween Special.

It doesn't seem like a festive holiday season (yet?). I think money and mortgage and endless war has made all of us tense and not hopeful during these last few years. Gas costs might go to record levels by Thxgiving-- but I am happy to go to Cooperstown, NY for Thanksgiving, and finally visit the Hall of Fame even with an expensive drive!

Luna Brothers and Girls

A big goodbye to the series Girls, which finished at issue 24. I really liked this series, with it's sci-fi, relationship, sex, gender, family, sperm monster, guns, torches, and many naked girls. D at the comic store said that it "always looked so bizarre" when he flipped through it. You know when the comic store employees think it's odd, you've got something.

Ethan was a great protagonist, put upon for beginning the cycle, but coming through in the end. Despite the huge amount of naked content, I didn't feel it was as exploitative as some series for some reason.

Thanks Luna Brothers for a couple years of interesting floppies that always went to the top of the pile. I'd suggest this series to everyone, but I'll bet the cliffhanger effect is way down in trade.
