A lot of television use

I meant to post this pic of me with some of my pull list. I have 8 unread comics from the last few weeks to read.

Despite the writers strike, I've been busy watching shows like Project Runway, and while I don't like reality shows, now I've been watching The Biggest Loser. Just watched the first Sarah Conner Chronicles- great to see River from Firefly. And new Daily Shows and Colberts have been keeping Tivo busier than I thought.

And, watching Dexter season 1 on DVD and Doctor Who Season 3. With Torchwood starting this Saturday, and Lost on the 31st, more TV.

Not to mention, The Giants in the Superbowl. Very torn here, because I like Tom Brady and the Patriots (shoreturtle roots Brady because he went to UMichigan) -- but I've been a mild Giants fan if I have to pick a team. The NEW JERSEY Giants-- I hate when they show midtown Manhattan as if that is right next to the Meadowlands, in Jersey! I like both Manning brothers too.

Plus, we got the Wii zapper so it's been Ghost Squad and Link's Crossbow Training. So that Family Room has been in use a lot; guess the cold weather has kept us in a lot.

Although I worked yesterday, had today off for MLK day and we went to see No Country for Old Men. Blood and guns and dusty Texas landscape.

Work has been very busy planning programs and writing annual reports and many patrons. I really deserve a damn promotion.

news I can use

My Tivo list is shrinking fast- no Heroes, Private Practice, Daily Show, Colbert Reports. Watched the last It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Damn studios just give the writers some piece and stopped hoarding the dough. As a patron told me about trying to 'squeeze' out a promotion "always got to squeeze from those suckers! they got the money!". Baby boomer librarians, please retire and make some room for the rest of us! If you can get a pension, and soon Social Security, go use it up because they say the well will be dry for us Gen Xers.

Future Comic news I found interesting--

The Dresden Files novels by Jim Butcher are set to be adapted by the Dabel Brothers.

Did you see the CSN that listed many of the 52 DC universes. (post 52 worlds)

Matt Wagner is working on Zorro comics for Dynamite.

Invincible 51 (Robert Kirkman) has a Jim Lee cover with an all new costume, home, partner, and new beginning. I'll admit I have only sporadically read Invincible in the last 20 issues. My first instincts here are too much change, and at first glance I thought Invincible was Nightwing!
Maybe it is the time to jump into the series again as advertised.

Post V day

A day late, but still one thing that made me happy for Valentines Day. Atom Eve and Invincible at the end of a sweet scene, where he flies to Africa to see her, she comforts him about his mom, and he stammers a word or two until they just kiss. What will happen with girlfriend Amber? I mean, he has powers and he's getting run down by her little college friends. With obvious bias, I think in this series it's exactly like Spider-Man-- the writer wanted us to like the blonde, but the redhead has much more personality and depth and the fans like her more. So go, Eve, get you some!

Make sure you didn't miss the V cards at Polite Dissent

Hope you all had a good V Day (even with an ice storm here, mine was good). One week until the NY comicon-- it's hard to think of all the artists and writers and the daily adds of guests.
